Head Units Designed for BMW

BMW interiors can vary significantly between models, series and factory configurations, so compatibility should always come first. Before choosing a BMW head unit, check your vehicle year, series, trim, dashboard style, wiring, steering wheel controls and existing factory features.

DMS Engineering head units are designed as plug-and-play solutions, with the required components included for installation. Where relevant, fascia kits, wiring harnesses, CANBUS adapters or steering wheel control interfaces are included with your head unit purchase to help the system fit correctly, connect properly and retain key factory functions where possible.

If you are looking for a specific fit, explore BMW options for the 1 Series, 2 Series, 3 Series and 5 Series.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for BMW

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto can make your BMW feel much more current without changing the way you like to drive. Instead of switching between your phone and factory controls, you can access key phone features through the head unit’s display.

Depending on the unit, this may include maps and navigation, calls, messages, Spotify, Apple Music and other compatible apps. Voice control also gives you a simpler way to manage common functions while keeping your attention on the road.

Wired and wireless options may be available depending on the BMW head unit you choose. You can also view compatible head unit add-ons for your setup.

What to Check Before Buying a BMW Head Unit

Before purchasing, check your BMW model, year and series, your preferred screen size and dashboard fitment, single DIN or double DIN compatibility, wired or wireless Apple CarPlay, wired or wireless Android Auto, reverse camera compatibility, steering wheel control retention, factory amplifier or speaker setup, and installation requirements.

We provide all relevant kits or wiring harnesses for compatible DMS Engineering head units.
